31% Mourvedre, 30% Tempranillo, 24% Malbec & 15% Sangiovese

October 12, 2019 Updated Tasting notes:  A lively, fruit forward wine with dried figs, dried cherries, herbs of thyme and tarragon.  A beautiful spice on the palete with white pepper.  Aromatics of lavender and purple flowers.  Bright acidity and silky tannins.  This is a wine drinking near it's peak and is a beautiful expression of Texas fruit.  

November 2016 Original Release Tasting Note: As one of Kuhlman Cellars’ proprietary red blends, the Barranca is crafted to be well structured and food friendly. Using Mediterranean varieties suchas Mourvedre, Tempranillo, Malbec and Sangiovese, we’ve achieved a wine with moderate tannins, firm acidity and silky mouthfeel. With notes of violets, sweet baking spice, cedar cigar box and cherry in the bouquet the palate offers both complexity and balance with cherry, dark chocolate, creme fraiche and an intense minerality. This is a wine that is reflective of the unique Texas Terroir.
